About Me

I’m Andy, a freelance designer located in the creative city of Leeds, West Yorkshire. I’ve been a professional designer for 7 years. I studied a BA in Product Design in Leeds and wrote most of my research whilst at university on design psychology. This led me to where I am today, specialising in brand strategy and design.

What I Do

I work with individuals, start-ups, businesses and organisations developing brands that boost recognition, create a unique identity and build trust. I’ve primarily worked with local organisations across West Yorkshire building strong client relationships and working closely with them to build effective brand strategies and identities. However, I’m not afraid of spreading my wings, having worked with brands across the UK and further afield.

Why I'm Different

I create a simple, easy and informative experience for clients on their brand journey. One where they can become more involved in the process and feel a part of the project. Gain knowledge on the value of branding to their business. Have someone that truly cares about their success and is supportive through the project. Additionally I give an understanding of why it’s important to consider the environment; making green choices wherever possible and how this can reflect upon you as a brand.

My Belief

My belief is that a brand can and should be much more than a logo. Your brand is a character, it’s an experience, a positive memory that remains in the mind, a polite message that makes you feel valued… Whether you run a shop, service, blog, youtube channel or anything where you are actively engaging with an audience or customer, you want to leave them feeling good, remembering the experience, get them talking about it, recommending you and coming back for more! That’s what I will help you achieve.

What My Client's Say About Me

Click the link below to take a look at some of the feedback I have received on my past design projects.

I’m a lover for all things creative but I often find myself short of time to pursue all of the things I enjoy. In addition to my design work, I am heavily invested in music. I’ve even produced a track under the name Moorland which has accumulated around 17,000 listens on soundcloud. I used to run a promotion label called ‘www.themonitoruk.com’ which was a website and soundcloud page with over 900 followers. Through its creation I built links and contacts from producers to record labels and radio stations. I’ve even had the honour of scouting out an underground Leeds producer and getting them signed for 2 EP releases. In addition, I run guest mixes on the soundcloud page which are made by underground producers from around the world.

In the past I have managed many different websites and projects. The most notable was a website called ‘www.ukbasketballcourts.com’ which is an interactive map of basketball courts in the UK. The website was designed to coincide with a website called ‘www.backbritishbasketball.com’ which was produced to ensure the GB team was automatically qualified to be a part of the 2012 London Olympics. The website received a huge response and helped to promote grass roots basketball. At the time of it’s creation I was only 16 but a few years later served as a great expample of my skills and helped me to get into a university course. It’s now in much need of an update having been the same design since 2010!
