The Logo Design Process
Each and every project is different but the process will often follow a similar structure. Dependant on the scope of your project each stage may be a little different. In general you can expect your project to be made up of the following key stages.
1. The Starting Point
I’ll start by getting to know your business or organisation, finding out the details of your project and developing a logo design brief.
2. Research & Mood Boards
This is when I’ll start digging into the details. This stage could include research of your competitors and target audience. We will also share ideas through a mood board which will help form how the design stages will proceed.
3. Concept Generation
I will begin sketching and generating concepts for your new logo design. It’s from here that I will select a number of ideas that best fulfil your project brief and present these to you.
4. Concept Development
After you have selected a logo design concept to take forward, the design will be further developed and refined based upon your feedback.
5. Finalising The Design
The final logo design presentation, approval and delivery.
6. Project Checkup
After the designs have been sent to you and you’ve had a chance to implement them, I will checkup with you to ensure you are happy with the results.

We’ll have a chat and discuss your project. I may also send you a questionnaire to further understand your project and create a clear brief for your logo design.

To see a mood board of ideas which we can discuss and use to help create a direction for your logo design project.
Keep In The Loop whilst the project progresses
Contact time will continue throughout the project to ensure I am on track to make a logo which is appropriate and to your preference. We’ll keep in touch via phone, email or video chat, whichever suits you best.
You can also keep up to date on the project’s progress through a project management app I use called ‘Freedcamp‘. It’s a great way of following the project, getting a little more involved if you want to and allows you to share ideas and critique easily. It’s free to use and as a guest viewer you’ll be able to view tasks I have set up for the project, deadlines, view images of designs and provide feedback.
Revisions
Unlimited revisions for design mistakes or technical errors are offered after completion.
Post Project Check-Up
A month after the project has completed, I will drop a message to you to check if everything is ok with your logo and it’s working as expected for it’s intended use. I’m always here to help!
